Autumn is a great time to visit New York City. Autumn in ny is appealing because the summer crowds and heat are gone. It can be a little cool, but usually the temperature is just right for walking around and seeing the sights. Today we are going to focus on one area in particular. Once a fort built in the 17th century by the first Dutch settlers, Battery Park is at the tip of Manhatten Island. It provides views of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor. If the weather is agreeable, you can take the ferry out to Liberty Island to tour the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. Contact the National Park Service at (212) 363-3200 for more information.
You may be inspired to take an Autumn in ny trip for a different reason. It has been 10 years since the terrible events of 9/11. Consequently, many people have chosen to visit Ground Zero this year. If you too want to remember those who were lost, the former World Trade Center site is a short walk from Battery Park.
And of course the rest of New York is available for you to enjoy during your Autumn in ny adventure.
